I was born on 15 Dec 1975 in Bogota, Colombia, at eleven I immigrated to the United States with my mother and brother. In the 90s I lived in Miami FL, eventually moving to Gainesville, FL to study graphic design at the University of Florida.
After a year in Naples, Florida I moved to New York in 1999 and began practicing design at dELiA*s, an apparel retailer. In 2006, I joined macys.com as an interactive designer and ActionScript coder. After a year and a half at Macy’s, I became Associate Art Director and subsequently Art Director for victoriassecret.com. Following a seven year tenure at Victoria’s Secret, I became the Senior Art Director for the Aeropostale.com site. In 2015 I took ecommerce art direction posts at two retailers; first for for the Fossil and then at J Hilburn, a men’s custom apparel maker, it was at this point that I started focusing on robust User Experience projects.
In 2017 I had the opportunity to join American Express in New York as Lead UI Designer for their Design Language system, continuing a very similar practice at Citigroup in Dallas in late 2018, where I contribute to their Digital Design Language. Both are central repositories of design and code for the use of their organizations at-large.
Away from work you can find me trying to run a few miles every week, playing the ukulele, taking lots of happy snaps, and trying to perfect cooking carnitas, not necessarily at the same time.
